New year, new meet. Was pretty chuffed at the turnout given that it was quite unbelieveably cold and miserable. Thanks also to local Staffs members of 2CVGB (Chaseracers Branch) for swelling the ranks, and to Jon 'Sidewinder' Clewer for being such a jolly decent chap and picking me up at 9am this morning.
Enjoy the pics....and those others of you who went armed with cameras/phones feel free to add your own. I'll bookmark this thread and add to it as the months go by.
Andy Morris's 'Buzz' is a bit of a legend in 2CVing circles. Made a grand entrance to the car park today at the usual '2CV Maximum Attack' lean angle....but a broken chassis meant it left on a transporter. Being welded up as I type.
The sheer diversity of this place never ceases to amaze me. Cossack-liveried Mk2 Rally-rep was running a Pinto on bike carbs and sounded gorgeous as it left. SE6A Scimitar sounded similarly lovely (you can't beat a V6) and that Polo looked amazing given the state of the roads right now.
What a joy. I know I'm biased when it comes to Gallic tin, but that's bloody lovely. I wanted to take it home, I wanted to cuddle it, I wanted to tear off its underwear, bend it over and give it a right good (continued page 93) ;D
Sidewinder's '76 Ami 8, which I travelled up in. Trailered up from Brittany a couple of summers back and given some serious attention with the welding torch. Now used and enjoyed regularly and has been back to France twice already. Gorgeous, relatively quiet and comfortable, and doing 60 miles in it today has done absolutely NOTHING to dampen my desire to repatriate one myself.
Loved this more-door split-screen Minor. Packing 1275cc of screaming A-series under the bonnet, and a Ford back axle....which proved its mettle when leaving the car park in a haze of molten rubber. Also in shot here are Sidspop's Thames pickup (which also lit them up on the way out) and ChasR's 205 (ditto)....which sounds in fine fettle for a car with over 170k on the clock.

Thankyou to everyone who turned out. The next meet will be on Sunday Feb 26th, same time (10am). Hope to see you again (and a few more) then.
