Ever bought a motor, parked it up and forgot the due date for the tax. It happened to me with an Accord Aerodeck. There was something about the Aero for me so I was glad to pick up this mega tidy example for £200. After fixing the brakes all I had to do was sort the high revving idle. Unfortunately I got busy elsewhere. It still irks me (though surprisingly I'm not agitated as much down under as there doesn't seem to be as many reminders as back home). Anyone else love the shape?/Seen a mod version. Wonder if this old girl was scrapped or Lambeth council had the nous to out it into an auction?

Nope will be frag I'm afraid. I was in a similar situation with an AX GT i bought for £150, didn't realise that the sorn didn't transfer. The block of flats it was parked under had it removed (my mates private parking space!) and by the time i found out the fees were over £500!
Only recently did I actually get round to sending off the logbook to say it was scrapped before the sent me the new red ones where you can't declare it!!

Buy car Park it up Forget about tax Local council lifts it By the time you realise, the release fee has skyrocketed It goes to auction or the big scrap heap in the sky

My take on the thread is that he bought a Honda Aerodeck, forgot to tax it/renew sorn, council came and took it away. This disappointed him. Now he's down under he doesn't get annoyed about it as much. Simples. Yeah thats what i read too.... Wasnt hard to understand at all curse word that the old aerodeck went though. Cool looking old cars those. Looked like a tidy one too

I understood it mate. Luckily its never happened to me. Although I did unknowingly drive my car with no insurance for 4 months as the company didn't take a payment and cancelled the policy without telling me. LUCKILY, no accidents happened. This was around 6 years ago too, so I'm sure there wasn't about 3 billion ANPR cameras about! Like the car though, cool old things them Hondas.

Mate had something very similar with Brentacre insurance years ago. He knew his cover ended while he was in Germany so phoned them up and explained that he was happy with the renewal quote but couldn't get the docs signed and returned before he left as the renewal literally turned up on a Friday. They said not to worry,he was fully covered and they'd just send him out a new cover note to make sure there was no gap in policy. He confirmed this several times with them, even offered to pay the dd there over the phone, was assured that there were no issues. Got back from hols, drove into town to grab a bite to eat and got pulled, light out I think.not concerned he gives his details then gets home to try and find his new covernote, idiots hadn't bothered to send it to him as he "hadn't confirmed he wanted to continue the policy". There's all of 5 people working in the office!!! He got extremely annoyed and explained the situation to which he was told "its our mistake but were not backdating insurance, perhaps you should seek legal advice". Great service that!!! I can't repeat how we got round it as others may copy who aren't genuine but lets just say he never used them again.
