With regret, I am advertising my 1990 UK model VT for sale as I will be starting a graduate job in March, which requires me to relocate to Leeds from Nottingham.
I purchased the car in May 2010 and had intended to keep it indefinitely. It is very original, right down to "Chatsworth Honda- Nottingham & Derby" number plates and an original, albeit faded window sticker to boot. The log book indicates 2 previous owners, however, I bought it from a trader who had registered the car to himself, thus there has been one previous keeper from new and the car has always lived around Nottingham.
There is no rust on the wheel arches on either side, nor is there any rust on the sun roof. The previous owner had these areas repaired by reputable Nottingham based body shop Allan Perry Garages Limited. When the car came into my ownership, the wheels were in bad shape and so was the bonnet. I had the bonnet repainted at I.Williamson Bodyworks, Alfreton, Derbys in September 2010. Moreover, the driver's seat right side seat bolster had torn so that was professionally repaired a couple of months ago, so there are not any rips in the leather seats now (see pictures).
All normal VT features in order. Electric windows work fine and so does the heater blower and mirrors. Original Panasonic tape deck is still installed too, retro huh?
No gearbox crunches; both myself and the previous owner have been particularly merciful with the transmission. Engines comes on VTec fine. Tyres have good tread and will be fine for a while (2x GoodYear and 2x Firestone)
Miles: 151,600 ish
MOT until 19/04/2012 (Only 800 miles since last test)
Currently SORN (I went travelling after finishing my degree last summer, so I did not renew the insurance)
Recent work: New rear brake pads and Honda Genuine rocker cover gasket plus usual consumables.
Bad points: Some rust bubbles appearing around wind screen. Would benefit from cam end seal replacing. I think the seal is about £7 plus VAT from Honda.
To summarise, this is a chance to own a very original, well documented and unmolested version of a great car and modern classic.
The price is £2750. If you have any further questions, or want to arrange to view the car please call me on 07840009206 and I will be happy to chat to you. I am not looking for a part exchange as I am getting around on my Vespa at the moment. No daft offers.
Thanks for looking.
Nick
