Was a nice article on the car, well done on the feature, nice sticker on the windscreen, might not have any this year.

Good to see the car in PPC. In my opinion there aren't enough Standards in the mags.

looong long overdue an update! The car WILL be at retro rides next weekend On a set of staggered wellers now 13 x 6.5 fronts 13 x 7.5 rears, squeezed a teeny bit more rubber on the back end Freelander stud conversion which are thicker diameter and longer so i could run the required spacers to overcome offset issues. Mkl escort steering rack conversion. Back on the 32 / 36 carb as twin 40s were too thirsty! rebuilt the rear axle as seals were nackered as were the bearings bonnet mascot is a new addition too subframe has been notched 15mm too to give a bit more ground clearance. no plans to take this any further just going to use it and enjoy it.

For me it's missing only one thing and I've no idea how you'd achieve it: spats/fender skirts. In every other conceivable way it's bob on and I still really like it.

I can definitely see why you're leaving it alone and just enjoying it. Looks absolutely bob on!

I'd only change one thing. The wheels. To holey for it. Cool car.

175 60 13 on the front on a 6.5j wheel 185 55 13 on the rear i think (need to double check profile) on a 7.5j wheel. it is pretty snug out back you wouldnt get much more wheel or tyre in there.
Got a set of 235 45 13 and 10j wheels on the dreaming shelf! they will never fit unless i swap to the gasser look!

Would the axle have trouble with more grip? Three plus times the power and twice the rubber is a big jump from stock!

Thanks - mine have 186/70 13's on, they're a bit snug. Will be interesting to see how good the lateral location of the axle is when it's on the road....

My wheels used to bang the arch a bit prior to replacing all the bushes. It's perfect now.
The axles are tougher than given credit for. I think the saving grace is the lack of rear end weight , it lights up all the way through first and into second in the dry if I'm heavy footed it's great fun!

So his happened this week.... Had to remove front bumper and wind coilovers up to get it on . Driving it hard as usual and here's the route cause of the issue Gunna need a stronger axle for a turbo I reckon hahaha, although that shaft has taken 3 years of all out abuse, running far more power than I am now!
