no, its not just your phone, whatever effects are used on em makes them horrendous to look at, really overprocessed.

See, this is why I've been posting fewer cars recently- out of every ten cars I post, one will get a great response and the other nine will lead to a stream of largely negative responses. If it's not the photos it's 'those wheels are horrible' or 'that's the wrong engine'. Starting to feel like a waste of time...

I haven't seen many negative comments, though I'm on my phone. I always read your threads Dan even if I don't reply, as everything you post is worth a look. I'm sure most others will be the same.

I'll be the first to answer 'Why?' with 'Why not?', or 'because they can', but this just seems like a massive waste of time. They've put a load of effort into fitting an old, rubbish engine, which hasn't made the car either faster or cooler.

The company that built it originally are air cooled specialists. It's one of the highest quality modified cars based on a modern base in this country, more along the build quality of a high class street rod than the usual VW's.

Got a few things to say about this thread....
First, the car is a demonstration of the owner wanting to do something for himself. For that, it's exactly what RR is all about. I'm sure he is aware that he could have got performance from a 1.8T conversion, but clearly he didn't want to. Good for him, the world needs people following their own path. Nutter!

Second, the pictures are a bit marmite, I think it's that double exposure thing? Oh well. The only reason it annoys me is it makes it tricky to see the colour scheme properly. Grey and red. Yummy.

Oh, and Dan. You post A LOT on here. Not everyone will like everything. Because you drop a lot of cars in here, I'd try not to take it personally if there are mixed comments. Bear in mind, it's not your car, or your photos, and anything that provokes a reaction is worth its space on here anyway. You still have a better hit rate than Berry Gordy so I wouldn't worry.
If you are asking why you bother, maybe put yourself under less pressure. I sometimes wonder if you are posting so much as some form of commitment. You would still be giving everyone enough to keep entertained with 10% of your picture threads

I like the fact that its not your usual mk3 golf. I like the fact that you open the bonnet and would have a shock that there's no engine under it lol. only one thing I think lets it down is the handbrake, don't know why it almost looks tired compared to the rest of the car but think it might be the photos themselves making it look like that. overall.

yes it might not make sense why you would want to do that but I'm glad he did, hidden engines are awesome ;D.

oh and bet that exhaust makes it tricky to reverse lol.

Amazing car, that "rubbish old engine" has definitely made it infinitely cooler.

I really like what the car builder has done there, no other reason, than that he could. Love that mentality!

Only things bugging me a bit, the exhaust could do with being a bit 'stubbier' as it were, only thing that spoils the car i think. I like the kind of secret aircooledness and shortening the exchaust/tucking it? would be great.

+1 on the photo comments, the photos remind me of 3D movies. Bleugh.
