Hi there,
I'm trying to get my direct access bike license done soonish. This requires another theory test, obviously . I remember doing the driving theory and hazard perception test when I was 17, I did that one first time like most normal people. I took the motorcycle theory once before Christmas, I got 50/50 on the test (which is not hard to achieve really, if you have the DSA CD ROM available from most book shops and on line) but 25/70 on the hazard perception section, thus I epically failed the overall test. I didn't fail because I couldn't spot the hazards, far from that reason.
The way it is put together is so ridiculous that anyone who has any length of motoring experience might, in my opinion find it difficult to jump through the wretched DSA hoops! the hazards which they put in the clips are so blindingly obvious that a driver or a rider would spot them right away. The way that the scoring works is based around a count down of 5 to 0 starting at a DSA determined point (usually much later than any normal person would determine) so I click the mouse to indicate I have spotted the hazard a good couple of seconds before the count down begins and score 0 points. jolly pain in the backside. So right now, I am sat with a training DVD trying to gage some exam technique on how to beat this wretched test. I had hoped the days of exam technique would end after I finished Uni....
Any other non 17 year olds have any experience with this disgusting requirement?
