Years ago a guy round the corner from me had a 'W' reg Mk1 Marina 1.3 Coupe in Teal Blue. He chopped it in for a Proton.... bad mistake on his part as the local kids used his car as a goal post. The Marina shrugged off football impacts... the Proton didn't. ;D

L Reg Vaux Nova around my area which I assume is late as the corsa was out by then latest nova Ive seen is a K reg as they stopped making them in 1992 IIRC Yeah I had a K Plate before my J Merit, oddly enough the K was more rotten than the J . I'll get a picture of it tonight.

Judging by the fact it's LHD, and the fed-spec side markers, it probably spent a great deal of it's youth in the US of A, and then was incorrectly registered when imported.

I remember seeing a few Maestro vans on ebay on 51 reg, turns out some were built from spares or something. I'm sure someone on here knows the full story. The late Maestro's you see on R plate and beyond are likely from Ledbury in Worcester. They were assembled from parts mainly returned from the failed Rodacar (sp?) in Bulgaria. I was an apprentice at Rover Group at the time and had put my name down for a job there. Can't remember exactly why the project collapsed, it may have been something to do with the BMW take over, but that's just my speculation. It was Parkway services of Ledbury who built around 600 odd Maestros from 1997>2001 using complete kits + a selection of modern Rover parts that had been stored in Oxford but never used. From what I remember after they made the 600 odd they couldn't make any more as the tooling for making panels etc had been sold off to the Chinese - you may have seen the Chinese special on the recent episode of Top Gear as they still make maestro cars + vans and also a weird Montego front Maestro rear hatch. dave

A 60-Plate Camper? :S just found it going through my summer holiday pics, didn't notice the number plate till earlier though. I'm sure I've seen one like this in Wolverhampton too. Am I seeing it the wrong way and its actually a kit/replica kinda thing or are these really a late registered van?

Think they still make the camper in Mexico, so I guess it's imported from there. They only stopped making the Beetle a few years ago (due to emissions I think).

They still make them in mexico Danbury and other camper manufacturers have been importing them for the last 10 years or so ? I certainly remember seeing them on 52 plates last time I did RTTS www.danburymotorcaravans.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7&Itemid=19&gclid=CLGv7vC75q4CFUsMtAoddmTPfw

Yes that's a genuine G-Reg (1990) Land Rover Series 3 (production of which stopped in 1984, though some 1985-reg ones are about)
there was two built from parts in a head-to-head race between two teams, one from James Duckworth & Sons Land Rover agents & the other from the Army (Royal Army Ordnance Corp & Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers)
They were built to raise money for Telephon, which raised over £50,000
slightly more details here:
