... I have no idea what this is. It looked like a Bay chassis with a milkfloat on top!   ... I have no idea of what is exactly either, but it might be another east-german attempt to built a split bus-like (or in this case a bay-like) vehicle on a beetle chassis? Like this example (as one of a few):  DMF was never a milk float, but one of four coachbuilt vehicles by Keller, based on a 1965 Type 2 chassis and running a Type 3 motor. Ben found the base vehicle in Germany last year and has spent the winter building it. There is another survivor left in Germany. As always with anything Mr Lewis builds the quality and attention to detail is amazing!! Well done Benny boy!!  |

Cheers for all the comments chaps. I saw you hustling around on the Saturday morning but didn't get a chance to say hi, got some phone shots myself. The yellow liviered split bus is Rikki James new effort, he showed us some resto shots as it only landed late on last year. Overall as ever a funny show, good mix of stuff to look at and do ;D I was looking out for you Bryn, but never spotted you all day. Mind you I spent most of the day on our club stand doing some PR work for the club. I bumped into Rikki last year, when our company did some work for his boss. He was telling me about the TV split and showing me photos, looked so cool ;D |
