Apologies, this isn't a picture thread, but it is of interest.
On the estate I live on there's a little hardware and autosupplies shop. That's not the interesting bit though.
The interesting bit is what's inside the shop. The shelves are badly organised at first glance, but contain lots of gaskets, brake parts, general service items and exhausts for all sorts of cars.
Thing is, he doesn't exactly advertise this stock, it's one of those little shops where it's just kept on shelves until the right customer comes in.
I'm pretty sure there's useful stuff in this little shop for a lot of folks on here but I'm unsure what the best course of action is.
Of the top of my head I can recall seeing 70s Peugeot, 60s-90s Ford, 80s-90s Vauxhall, 90s Fiat, Yugo and some Austin items. The owner has also said he has plenty more stuff in stock that's not on display and to just ask to see if he's got what I'm after.
In an ideal world I'd be able to make an inventory of everything and post it up with prices, but that's something that would be presumptious to suggest to the shop owner and likely to take months as it would have to be organised when we both had free time.
I'm thinking the best option is as follows:
1) ask for parts you want - usually engine and general maintenance, no body panels or trim that I'm aware of - and I'll go in once or twice a week to find out what he's got and report back with prices and stock availability.
2) Find out the actual name and address of the shop and publicise that here. We all call it "Ken's shop", I've never had need to learn the actual business name or address since it's a two minute walk from the house.
