I'm struggling it identify. Basically it's an Ashley 1172 of 1958 - 1962 with approx 300 made but the bonnet bulge doesn't match the profile of others I can see - more like the front end of the Spridget conversion kit they did after the kit car market started to slow down. I think the rear end might help identify age a little more - early had pronounced fins whereas later more rounded and "modern looking". No idea of value but I'd definatley be interested if you are considering selling as I think it's a great looking car.

Shame the rear end has been altered, no matter whether factory or owner modification, as the original style is far nicer - Paul H

Looks like there's a website too. The one at the bottom has bonnet scoop a lot like yours: www.ashleygt.co.uk/As I said the bonnet bulge is the same as the Spridget conversion (as per the web site link) and called the Silverstone front whereas all the 1172 pics I can find show the cut off Goodwood bulge. The rear edge of the bonnet is shaped to the Ashley bulkhead so don't think it's a Spridget item but maybe just the Silverstone bulge grafted on. Yes I'm an anorak Paul h

Hi
I purchased an unmolested Ashley shell recently for £800 - yours needs the rear remoulding but has some other bits so my guess is if you find another lunatic you could get the same ... not many of us about !!
This also looks to be an Ashley 1172 with an aftermarket (GT6) bulge.
Hope this helps
Chris

Hi All I have an Ashley Laminates Sports Cars website, It features an "ASHLEY LAMINATES SPORTS CARS Online VEHICLE REGISTRY and HISTORICAL ARCHIVE" which covers all known Ashley cars (that's known to me so far), if you have info. that's not listed on my site I would love to hear from you: ashleysportscarsregistry.weebly.com This links direct to my main website which I am developing to give much needed exposure to the Ashley Marque and to this end I am featuring all cars known to me on a separate story webpage on the site. I would like to cover all known and unknown Ashley bodied cars whatever chassis/engine combination used. Please see site to contact me, I would like to gather all known information on the Ashley bodied cars, makers, construction, etc, etc. I am located in OZ so have little access to the UK Ashley scene, although I did build my own Ashley Sportiva 6999MU back in 1962 and do have a few clues to the Marque. I hope to get some feedback from anyone that looks me up and can help with new info/Rego. details Many Thanks and hope to hear from you Cheers Ikos

Madmart, You mention in one of your posts above with the Yellow Ashley 1172 that you may sell if anyone is interested, if that is the case would you like me to advertise it in my Ashley Laminates Sports Cars website, It features an "ASHLEY LAMINATES SPORTS CARS Online VEHICLE REGISTRY and HISTORICAL ARCHIVE" which covers all known Ashley cars (that's known to me so far), if you have info. that's not listed on my site I would love to hear from you: ashleysportscarsregistry.weebly.comI would add it at no cost, all you need to do is send me what you want indicated and price you want, have a look at my website For Sale page and then let me know, my website has a contacts page or send an email. Thanks, Ikos
