ok this isnt my car but someone on facebook has posted it and since its in my local area thought Id help to spread the word. the picture shows what the car was like when it was in the garage but obviously could have changed by now.
it was stolen last year but the owner wasnt told until recently and that was only because they went down there. wasnt continuously checked up on because the garage owner was supposed to be a friend. it has a few identifying features that would only be seen up close but you never know, someone might have been offered it and had a look. I'm waiting to find out the reg number but it had no plates on the car as was having a lot of work done. they have the logbook so just waiting for them to tell me the number.
Identifying features are;
Rear panel has been replace so you can see where it has been joined.
Repair patch on drivers side rear suspension turet.
Bulkhead was replaced and has a delete plate where the vin would be on later models so if you see weld around it its been tampered with.
There are no bumper locating holes in rear quarter panels and wings and small tail lights like a cabrolet
Chrome door handle, pop out front quarter light windows.
now because the owner didnt actually report it stolen or inform them, plus no evidence of forced entry, there is suspicion that the garage owner sold it on/was involved. however not interested in that at the moment, they just want to try to find it as it has sentimental value.
it was stolen from the helston area of cornwall. so just wondering if anyone has seen any golfs being moved around that area with similar features.
cheers guys (and girls)
