Some one from work mentioned his friend (conveniently round the corner) had a car on his drive that he was going to scrap after a few years sitting on the drive......Being the inquisitive type of person I am I inquired as to the type of car it was, he said a Nissan 200sx and yes its turboed and manual gearbox too ;D ;D My ears pricked up at the thought of owning one of these fine vehicles, I asked a few more questions.... it has been laid up after the clutch started slipping, this occurred when the bigger turbo, stainless exhaust, boost upgrade etc etc was fitted more good news was that there was a box in the boot with all the new bits needed to get it back on the road....... Bad news was I'm skint having spent the last few months coughing up money for the SD1 project and the wife's crx so money is a little thin on the ground. But having an eye for a bargain I went off to see it after work today, the result is I am now even more skint than before and have a car that I wont have time to work on until after our holiday in May for which we now have no spending money for ( sorry wife) It has a crack in the screen, mold/mildew all over the body work, the steering wheel has been eaten away, the interior smells like a tramps hat, the engine hasn't been turned over in four years, the brakes are all properly rusted and I don't know what sort of colour its supposed to be. and I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.... pictures of the car in question......

to be fair, these hold there money, and turbo manuals are getting rarer.
Well worth being in trouble with the missus

I hope you like the smell of tramps' hats, because I have a sneaking suspicion what you've posted there are pictures of your new bedroom when the wife finds out what you've done

If she is really mad, get it running - ebay it and take her for a meal with some of the profit I don't know how much you paid for it but I bet you can at least double your money.

Aye, S14s make fairly decent money and there's quite a demand for them too...

What a great pile of potential. If you do get grief, I offer a dragon's den style investment of 50% of what you paid, for 50% of what you sell it for Good luck with it and your holiday

The wheels look surprisingly clean. Roll as, and sell the wheels for holiday pocket money.

Excellent find!! Have some inspiration for your new project... I did some thing very similar a couple of years ago, i was going about my job as normal and the property i visited had a Celica GT4 on the driveway, v.neglected and clearly hadn't moved for years - so a few questions later and a small sum of money it was mine! Story goes it had been parked after the rad went 6 years ago last tax disc was 2004 ~ (bought it in 2010) When i got it home, Major overhaul of the brakes, 4 x new tyres, 1 x 2nd hand rad, 1 x battery and a satin black paint job later I had this.. Then i went to a certain track.... After the 'ring fun it had to go as i wasn't using it I think the total build cost was £740 including buying it (£400) Utterly jealous of your find and would love to do something similar again.....

You're kidding me!! I know that car and contacting the seller has been on my 'to list' for a while! I spotted it on a random drive once and did some digging, the owner is a member of the SX forum (forgive me if this has already been said, I was so excited I've just started replying without reading anything...), turns out it had a rear end shunt a couple of years ago but was repaired. Either way, small world!

This will only make a difference if you end up sleeping in it and you can't get the smell of Eau de Tramp out of the seats as I have a complete black leather interior for one of these (including the door cards).......let me know if you're seriously interested and I'll move it to the back of the Garage and sell all the other stuff first......

well it was picked up today and brought back to the barn. I washed it, serviced the engine and checked it over before starting it (hopefully) well the result was fantastic, it started like a car that had been used the day before - didnt flinch at all, idles lovely and engine sounds smooth. I cleaned the flith off it and cleaned the inside so that was all good, I checked the knocking on the passenger side and it turns out the tie rod is stuffed as the thread was gone, to get it to move safely round the farm I welded it together temporarily. other than that its looks good to go for an MOT. unfortunately it looks like it will be a short lived owqnership as I need another 4x4 for towing so this will go to fund it
