I think it's awesome. I also find it nice to see what patethic low lifes most of the car people, and even stance people all over the internet actually is. What do thousands of people think they'll achieve by posting how much they hate it? A suicide? Is the "for the hell of it" mentality something totally alien to these people? See, now that annoys me rather. While I'm all for being different, and very much all for doing things that aren't logical simply because you can (a couple of non car related ones, I'm a big fan of the "Tornado" new build steam locomotive project and the "Vulcan to the Skies" group, neither of which have any logical reason to exist) in my opinion you can push that too far- am I not allowed to say as such? Personally I don't like this because it's purely "look at me", it's as much use as a chocolate fireguard and I simply can't see the point of it beyond it being a willy waving exercise. I admire impracticality in the name of style- Bruce's newly acquired Land Rover is one that springs instantly to mind, but there's a line there somewhere and this crosses it. The difference between pushing the boundaries and simply taking the mick I suppose. I'll crawl back into my pathetic, low life hole now ;D

I think there's a picture of it in the NRNR thread. I think it's a great example of taking trends to the furthest extreme. I wouldn't drive it (like most) and I'm certainly not suggesting it's how everyone should build cars but I'm sort of pleased it exists. How long before the thread is full of people stating obvious things like 'it's dangerous', 'it'll wear tyres out' and 'it looks silly'? ps: Nori Yaro has quite a lot of info on the car, it's builder and some of his previous efforts: noriyaro.com/?tag=kawashima-celicaThat's exactly what I would have said if I was better with words. Oh.... and not long.

Without the arches it looks the tits, not so keen with the really wide wheels and extra arches but each to their own. Regards to how it drives I don't really care as I'll never drive it

he drove it to the show like that with a few stops to up the psi in tyres! its certainly pushing boundaries but to quote nori yaro "This is a good example of why Japan’s car people are so awesome. It makes no sense, but it’s fun, so they do it." so why the feck not eh!

bet he goes through tyres like no one And once again nobody is allowed an opinion without the victim police rolling their eyes and running to mammy. I'd like to say I can appreciate the work that goes into it but clearly its bodged and scene and done for a reaction not because the builder has a passion for what he /she does this forum is loosing the plot... Instead of standing out its blending in with PC plums.............. Zeb I totally agree apart from the last bit because no I don't like it. Shoot me.

Love the look. Some kind of Manga car ;D would love to have a go at driving it...
But not too keen on the engineering behind that (shoddy comes to mind)

Instead of standing out its blending in with PC plums.............. Zeb I totally agree apart from the last bit because no I don't like it. Shoot me. The same old flawed arguments. This isn't 'PC plums', this is a forum that is intended in the main to be used by intelligent people who don't need to hear obvious and pointless drivel. The car is outrageous, thrown together, (I expect) horrendous to drive and a lot of people won't like it. I'm not oblivious to this fact, which is why I don't want to hear it. It's not about being PC or infringing your rights to free speech...it's about you being boring and making us all look like idiots. Let the other forums do the hating, RR is cleverer than that....or at least it's supposed to be. If you don't understand that, stop using the forum rather than complaining about it.

The engineering is atrocious, it looks awful and those tyres are daft but I love it because its like VIP style taken to its (il)logical conclusion. The car scene needs people to keep pushing the boat out.

Can't wait to see it with matching wheels all round. All car modifying is one-upmanship/cock waving/look at me. There is no logical reason to modify a car that's why its so much fun.

how does them tyres stay on ? Not saying this and having a go, genuinely interested and amazed, but like Spekkie, how are those tyres staying on? First time i saw it i assumed a special double beaded wheel or something but apparently it's not that? I just can't seem to get my head around it! As for nice things, I am glad it's now in a silver body, the yellow was a bit erm... yellow for my taste! ;D

Alexi: You’ve been getting a lot of attention overseas recently even though the car is nowhere near finished, but there have been quite a few comments that have been rather negative.
Kawashima: Really? Well, that doesn’t really change what I do. When I came up with the idea for this look, I knew that a lot of people were not going to like it, however the people who actually do like it are going to absolutely love it, and that’s good enough for me.

Tyres have 85psi in them to hold them tight - the inner wall is on the normal bead.

Yeah I found out about this a couple of weeks back, thought about starting a thread but didn't fancy the inevitable negativity so stuck it in the NRNR hoping the right people would see it.
