right well, with regret i announce that my 69 citroen azu250 has left my ownership. Many great times had with it, but it needed work which i couldnt afford, so, rather than see it deteriorate any further i decided to get rid. In the end i swapped it to the last owner for this- its a citroen ami8 break (meaning estate) from the most recent records ive seen there are 19 in the country and this is one of only 14 on the road. i got this two days ago and the engines barely been cold! so far i have established that it will need kingpins, rear wheel bearing, and i think ive cured the small oil leak. it needs some work to the front roof gutter, but that'll have to wait til better weather. plans.. so far i don't think I'm going to do a lot, needs a tidy up, prob fit a new set of boots soon, maybe fit the 6spoke rims i had on the van IF the fit behind the rear archs

What a great car! I had one of these when I was 17, about ..cough..20 years ago. It was bulletproof! Max of about 65mph on the flat with a strong tail wind (assuming it's the 602 and not the 1015 super)? Not much fun changing the pads on the inboard discs, though looking at your sig I guess you've had plenty of experience of that already. Keep us posted and more pics please...memory lane here I come

Due for a small update I think, not touched it mechanically, done 5000miles and the only issue was a blocked carb jet about a week ago. Decided to replace the king pins today, not the funnest of jobs at the best of times! Wing off, unbolt the steering arm, driveshaft and lets see what we have.. Ah.. That's pretty b@llocked, no cap and someone's already clouted it and beveled the top edge.. Unfortunately this meant it wouldn't be 'teased' through from the top so the whole swing arm had to come off (including anti-roll bar and drop one end of the shock) do I could attack it from the bottom of the hub. I got a bit carried away with the hammer and forgot to take more pics, but after me spending most of the afternoon hammering and swearing the old is out and the new in, but I really couldn't be bothered to start the other side do that'll wait til next week!

ok, so fixed the knackered kingpin on monday aaaaand i break the ignition barrel today. literary put the key in and it wouldnt twist.. nor would it come out again. 'thats fine, i can deal with that' i thought 'ill simply hotwire it and fix when i get back from my job interview'. No. This has happened to me before in my first 2cv, but last time i was fortunate enough that the steering lock didnt work.. not so lucky this time. So there i am with a dilemma, my car is on my drive with the key stuck in the ignition and the steering lock is on..I'm due for this meeting 20 miles away.. i decided to pull it all apart to see what ive got to work with and then realized id really better be getting the bus into the city, although i forgot the interview was 2miles from the bus station, which is a long walk in the storms we had today! All in all, not the best day, but heres whats waiting for me in the morning...

This car looks great on the photos and even better in the flesh.
I saw it in a line of amorphous blobs on the A146 over the weekend and it looked just fab.
