need to knock up a brake pipe for the beast it runs dead straight front to back , id like to make it look as orignal as possible rather than a wavy bendy mess
any tips on making em nice n straight

No tip - just use no.1 eyeball (standard equipment on humans) and "tweak" a little at a time rather than trying to get perfectly straight at first attempt. Use hands / fingers as less likely to then get a sharp kink / mark / bend than if using any kind of tool.
With care you should get the effect you require without too much trouble.

Once you've got your clips on at regular intervals you'll barely notice, it comes off the reel pretty straight as it is.

I saw a good tip, I think in PPC, which was to cut the pipe to lengh then roll it between two bits of plywood or the like to straighten it.

I use two 6ft lengths of mdf skirt I had lying round and it works a treat , perfectly straight after a few seconds rolling .

I've tended to "pull it" straight but this rolling idea sounds like the win!
