Model: Ford Fiesta 1.1 Year: 1982 Mileage: 86,100 Tax: SORN MOT: None Pics: See below Location: Bristol Price: £400 ovno Contact details: Please PM me or leave a message below. This Fiesta was very kindly donated to Area 52 by FiestaPerry late last year. We were going to make a project out of it, but space, time and funds have meant this won't happen for quite some time. Instead, it is being put up for sale to help raise some funds to keep Area 52 going. The car is a 1.1 Mk1 Fiesta and is (from what I can tell) complete with the exception of a couple of things like a front bumper and the interior side panels for the rear. Everything else appears to be with the car. First things first, the engine currently doesn't run but this has been diagnosed as a worn dizzy. Other than that, all the signs are there that this is a good engine. Compression is very good, it turns over well and the Area 52 resident engine expert seeems to think it's a very good little engine most likely just needing just a dizzy to get it going. Now to the most important part of any Mk1 Fiesta - the bodywork. It's in remarkable condition for a Fiesta....I could only find three patches that have been welded and no evidence of any further welding needed except for a tiny (and I do meant tiny) bit of rust in the front of the passenger floorpan. Everywhere else is amazingly solid! Please come and see for yourself - the bonnet, front wings, inner wings, front panel, floorpans....all the usual rust spots are in very good condition. I'll post a lot more photos up tomorrow - lots of shots of the interior, floors, under bonnet, wheel arches etc.... For now, I'll leave these pics here just to give you some idea. The front panel has had a number of plates welded to it at some point and this is probably the only area on the car that really needs some proper TLC. This will be a very easy car to tidy up or a perfect donor car for an interesting project - I genuinely doubt you'll find a more solid base vehicle for the money. As said, LOTS more photos to come tomorrow. Any questions in the meantime, please just ask....but you'll probably be best to wait for the detail photos to really see how solid this car is. Thank you for looking and please don't forget, the sale of this car is to help keep Area 52 going. Hopefully a worthy cause?

Some close-up shots of the bodywork - there are some more to come that I'll upload very soon. Nearside front arch & wing in excellent condition Bottom of wing...no rust at all (that's just some dirt on there) Bottom of door. From what I can tell, this really is only surface rust...the inside of the door is looking very, very solid. Rear of the sill. One of the only areas that's had any welding...also a dead easy section to re-do properly with fresh metal let into the bodywork. Rear nearside arch. Apart from a minor amount of rust on the front part, it's all good. Rear offside arch. A small amount of rust on the rear area near the mudflap/bumper but otherwise excellent. Welding on the rear of the offside sill. Again, a dead easy repair to let fresh metal in properly rather than plated. Front offside arch/wing in excellent condition. The bonnet is amazingly rot free. There is some minor surface rust on the inside, but that would clean up very easily (photos of that to come) - overall, an excellent bonnet. As said, I have lots more photos that I've taken of the car showing all the floors, inner wings etc...which I will upload sometime today when I have more time.

Thanks Stu, let me know if you get something sorted.... In the meantime, have some more pics (LOTS more pics) Engine bay - coil, dizzy, HT leads etc...removed but are all there (in a box at the mo) Inner winges in excellent condition Underside/inside of bonnet has some surface rust...but it's very light surface rust and no rot from what I can see... Bootlid also in excellent condition, even on the inside All good here too with only light rust on the seam below the lights: ...and the same on this side

Check out the condition of the floorpans! Some black spraypaint in the rear footwell/seat base area but I can't see any signs of welding or of any rot at all... See, it's pretty flipping tidy here too... The brown marks on the rear wheelarch is glue residue from where the carpets/insualtion has been removed. The same on this side. No rust, just some dirt in the corners and the glue residue on the arch itself. Boot is fairly stained from where is might have had a leak at some point (it's all dry in there now) but there is a tiny rust patch in the nearside corner that might need looking at? Nearside corner of boot. This is one of the only bits I can find that might need some new metal. it feels fine, but if it was me, I'd cut it out and put some new metal in. It's about 2" square. Neasrside front footwell. Again, superb condition except for a tiny patch in the front corner..... About 1.5" squared, this feels a bit crispy and could probably do with being treated to some new metal. All good here.... Apart from the two plates on the sills, this is the only other evidence I can find of the car being welded. Nearside rear passenger footwell. It all feels fairly solid. Only three patches on the whole car...that says something about the overall condition surely? I've got some more to upload, but hopefully that gives a pretty good indication of the solid condition of this car....only three patches and only two tiny area that might need sorting. How many £400 car adverts give you anywhere near this much info about the car? As I said before, you'll struggle to find a more solid Fiesta in this kind of price bracket. Oh....and I might have forgotten to mention previously, it also comes with a brand new Weber carb! (Weber box and original carb also included in sale) More photos to come later....

As promised, the last of the photos. I've dealt with all the 'detail' shots of the bodywork areas and these are just some random shots showing a few other bits... Carpets, rear seats, boot boards, spare wheel, interior parts and a box full of bits... Centre console with clock, steering column shrouds Box with things like spare headlights, new HT leads, spare indicators, spare rear lights, various interior parts (door handles, catches, brackets etc...), new wheel bearing, coil, some polybushes etc... New brake pads More polybushes and more wheel bearings... Hopefully that's covered everything for the car? I've tried to be as thorough as possible with it all....please let me know if you want any more info? The V5 is currently in my name and there is some old paperwork in the passenger door pocket (I haven't checked all that yet) Any questions, please ask. ;D

Estate, you say? Couldn't interest you in a Mk3 Escort estate at all? You'd be (indirectly) helping A52 as well! [/threadhijack]

Just to let people know, the car is provisionally on hold pending a viewing this weekend.
Raoul Duke is coming a LONG way to view it, so I have decided to give him first refusal for the moment. Obviously if he decides it's not for him, then it'll be business as usual after the weekend. I don't usually do 'dibs' but taking into accound the distance he is coming and the fact it's all arranged I have decided that it's only fair to hold onto the car until he's seen it. I am sure you'll all understand where I am coming from with this?

In the 5th pic is that a celica supra over the back? Unfortunately not, it's a standard Celica fastback/hatchback like this: ...but in white, non runner and with a lot of melted plastic (lights, rear panel and bumper) as well as lots of burnt paint around the rear from an electrical fire. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole even though I adore this era of Celica! It belongs to a guy who rents some space in the unit (nothing to do with Area 52) but he hasn't gone near it in over three years.

Tbh I've just considered buying it myself but have too many projects to justify it but it would make sense in a way as the insurance on these is actually very reasonable (comparitively,I.e £3600 for a Ka or £1800 for one of these !!!!) for my 17 yr old son so I'll keep my eye on this.

Thanks to all those who showed an interest in the Fiesta, it's now sold and will be going to its new home (under its own steam) sometime next week.
