my mate is going to restore a ford orion and has asked me to help[trying to get him to join up] now his idea is to strip it do the body work,then paint it,put it back together and drive.now from reading on here most people do it this way .but i think it would be better to do all the work first make sure everything fits then strip it again to paint it as there is less chance of doing damage. so what are your thoughts? this is a long term project so there are no time limits.

If there are no time constraints i'd do the assembly first then strip and paint.

only worry about assembly 1st if the parts going on are non factory,.

its normal to test fit any new panels etc before thinking about paint

id persoanally say asemble first to make sure everything fits (a dry build) then strip it all back down send for paint then re build
