Hi guys, looking for some parts for the new shitbox and getting a bit confused. We've bought (hopefully) a 1974 Daimler Sovereign series 2
My understanding is that this is basically Jag XJ6 series 2, which I believe came in 2 wheelbases. I believe the Daimlers were all LWB? (this car was imported from the UK)
If this is correct, what were the differences between LWB and SWB? Are doors the same? Fueltanks? Where was the extra length?

as far as i know the diffrence was in the body.the extra length was so the VIPs had more room in the back so things like sills are diffrent.

The extra length is in the rear doors, all s111 xj6s were LWB I think

Jag XJ6 - SWB v LWB differences = 4 inches. Wheelbase is 108" on a SWB, and 112" on a LWB.
This extra length was inserted into the bodyshell just in front of the rear seat. It makes inner and outer sills, floor, transmission tunnel, roof and rear doors slightly longer, the rest is all the same. Rear doors from one won't fit the other.
SWB was only S1 and a very small number of S2 cars.

We use our LWB in our hire business… More legroom, more height, thickened glass our X330 has the smooth Aj16 engine

The later 'XJ6' cars - X300 and the like are a long long long wheelbase having been strectched a little more than once! They're bigger in quite a few respects, even the bonnet line being a good few inches higher.
The early 'classic' XJ6 never had a height increase until the Series 3, when Pininfarina restyled the car
