Right update time! Its been a while. I got the car home! Heres some pics. As you can see I got a few bits fitted up! I was waiting for the brake lines but I have them no so can fit them and get the subframes fitted up. Also refrubed up the brakes, hub and drive shafts. Another headlining shot as well just cause I can.

Time for an update I think! Got a nice load of parts from MiniSpares. Coming up to Xmas I did lots of over time as work so just did the little odd bits. Boot lid cables. Battery Cables. Brake and fuel lines on the under side of the car. Bits on the rear subframe. I will clean up that grotty bit and give it a paint. Then started the horrid job of wiring bushing bits. Painted! Really pleased with the finish. Then back to the wiring brush to start on a few more bits. Bought a can of this for the cylinders after a few good reviews! Hope its as good as everyone says. Gonna cover all the threads in copper grease when I put it all together but I think thats about it for now. Mini show at the end of the month and I have a big shopping list so more updates soon.

Right update time! I picked up this running MG metro engine which I am gonna repaint and fit this will save some time and a bit of money and I can then build up the other engine to the spec I really want at a later date. I also got the front subframe in the car. Messed around with some steels to see what they would look like up against the car.] Then the best bit! Remember this ATS classics I bought for her. Well I went and picked them up from the wheels refurbers this weekend! I am so pleased with them! Just need to get the rubber put on them now which I'll do after the next payday! I have also dropped the seats at the trimmers so am looking forward to getting those back! Thats about it for now. Ta.

Thanks. Been trying to do it the best I can. Its not gonna be a show winner or anything. Just don't want to rush anything I do have a full set of them yes. I have a kinds obsession in 10 inch wheels haha.
I have.
1 set of dunlop d1s. (original no the new copies) 1 set of 10x6 weller motorsports (on the clubby) 2 sets of normal 10x6 wellers 1 set of ATS Classics 1 set of 10x5 Mambas (original no the new copies) 1 set of 10x6 ultralights 1 set of cooper s steels 1 set of 10x5 Momos 1 set of 10x5 Cosmics

It is always good to see a Mini getting some love. It is better to see a Mini getting unique touches as well as the more fun and traditional ones! It certainly seems that this Mini shall be as straight as a die upon completion.
BTW I love that headlining!

Thanks! I just like to build my cars to how I like them. Not to how other people think they should be!

Right well I got the front subframe and shock mounts fitted with all new stainless bolts. Also picked uo the brakes! I have also got myself some windows from an innocent mini with opening quaterlights. Took me ages to find some. Still not managed to get hold of a wiring loom yet though which is become a right pain! I am off 2moz so may get some bits painted if its dry. Thats about it for now. Thanks.

Love the quater lite windows.
Is it a lot of work to make them fit.

I have also got myself some windows from an innocent mini with opening quaterlights. Took me ages to find some. Back when I used to have Minis, my Dad's mate gave me photos of his Dad's Minivans. They were stonemasons and had a couple of Minivans for nipping around in. One of them had opening quarterlights and I remember telling him how unusual that was. He asked a couple of blokes who had worked for the firm since the stone age and they all remembered how handy it was to have quartelights but nobody knew why or how they came to be fitted. And there ends my pointless story. Your motor is looking awesome, the headlining is brilliant.

Love the quater lite windows. Is it a lot of work to make them fit. Not really. Bit fiddley to get them in the doors but you just need to drill about 5 holes in the doors to hold everything in place and hey presto!

And there ends my pointless story. Your motor is looking awesome, the headlining is brilliant. Thanks. The quaterlights were standard on the Italian made innocenti minis. Don't really see many about and they are bloody hard to get hold of. I was watching some on ebat that went for £700! Mine weren't what I would call cheap but they were no where near that price thats for sure! Took me 3 years to find some at a price i was happy to pay, I'm a tight ass and don't really believe you need to always buy new stuff when rebuilding a car. Most of the bits on this are bits I took off the car for second hand bits I have cleaned up and repainted. Thanks. Headlining is my favourite part of the car of the car at the mo. I didn't think it would look that good when I ordered it haha.

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with this project. So wish I had your skills, time and money. Brilliant project! :-) Thanks. Haha only one way to learn and that's have ago. Before I bought this mini back when I was 16 I didn't know anything about cars. I wish I had more time as well, I was up until 1 in the morning the other night cleaning bits and eating chips and drinking beer haha. You don't need to spend 1000s rebuilding a car. I love buying second hand parts and cleaning and refurbing them to save some money. Got lucky with all the suspension and brakes TBH. A guy I know is doing a honda conversion which used a different subframe so non on his old stuff fitted which was handy as I bought all his bits that had hardly done any miles for less then half the price. I also spend far too much time looking on eBay and forum for cheap bit. Thanks for the comment though.
