I've got a mint 1600 Vitara gearbox left over from when I owned Vitara. An idea is brewing so can anyone tell me if the 1500 Suzuki engine from something like a Swift or Ignis would bolt straight to this gearbox ?
Thanks.

As far as I know, I don't think the G-series Swift engines bolt up to the rear wheel drive gearboxes. I have a mate with a Suzuki Sierra. He's running the stock 1.3 litre rear-wheel-drive block, but he put a Swift GTi twin cam head on it. I'm pretty sure that the reason for doing this is that the front wheel drive blocks are not compatible with the longitudinal gearboxes.
