Hi guys,
Slightly off topic but couldn't think of anywhere to ask other than here.
We have a Massey Ferguson 135. A wing or sorry, 'fender' fell off prompting the purchase of new fenders.
We have a load of PaintMaster Professional Tractor Enamel and same branded primer and white spirit which I plan to use to spray the panels.
Can anyone give me the basics of how, what mix to use etc.
We recently 'restored' (a loose term) an agricultural grain trailer, welding and finally spraying in said paint.
Thinned with white spirits until not quite as thin a water. Seemed to spray on quite nicely and evenly with no runs.
But there was very, very limited prep work, simply apply 2 coats primer, dry, then 3 coats enamel. So it looks rubbish, but then was never meant to look presentable.
It seemed to take forever to harden, tacky to the touch a fortnight later.
Do i need to use a hardener? If so what type, and what ratio enamel, thinner and hardener?
Finally whats the process for a good finish?
Obviously prep and getting primer nice and smooth. Then what? I've head 3 coats of enamel 1 hour apart. Leave 48 hours then wet and dry 1500 sandpaper to polish?
Thanks guys, basically, how to you spray enamel? ;D
