hi all, thanks to the rubbish weather weve had of late the roof round the seals on the pop top of my camper have developed slimey crud due to the water collecting and then running off. I'm planning on using hot water, stardrops and some elbow grease to remove it. does anyone know of a product other than stardrops that might make the job easier?

If you can get hold of some traffic film remover (halfrauds stock it) that will shift it realy easy, just remember to wet down the paint work to stop streaking.

truck wash gets my vote as well - it's a mild acid. The sliding window seals on my Land Rover used to allow all sorts of things to grow so I used weedkiller - seriously !

Spray on some diluted TFR, give it a rub then jetwash it off (not too close because of the seal) After it's done, maybe get a few coats of wax on the roof?

Diluted Bleach far safer than TFR as I will NOY stain the paintwork. If you use TFR and NOT dillute it properly it WILL stain paintwork

Tonycola go to Snowballs in railway street they stock the trade TFR and it will shift that in a crack.
Don't use bleach the last thing you want is to ruin the interior with an unexpected leek or spill.......

Another vote for truck wash, mix it 50:1 and spray it on with a garden sprayer.
I did a mates Reno Traffic that was totally green and slimey, spray on, wait 5 mins then pressure wash off.

Just to say ... for little nook and crannies ... i use a soft tooth brush and wash it off ... my car isn't garaged and the drive is north facing so when not in use during the winter does pick up the dreaded green slime. Have a good breathable car cover now but i found the soft toothbrush or a used one is great for that and doesn't mark the paint at all. I know its not large areas but still thought I'd say :-)
