Hi Guys and Gals, I imported this van a couple of years ago with the intention of selling it on but it was so good I stored it at the back of the garage to do up and keep for myself.
The van is a 1972 "crossover" bay fitted with an Adventure camper 2 berth interior.
The van is a tin-top and the roof panel and gutters are in great condition.
The van came from L.A. where it had been laid up after the lady owner reported a transmission fault. When I bought it the advert stated that after the garage was unable to repair the fault it was driven home. I figured it couldnt be too serious a fault if it was driven home so I bought it and brought it over.
When I got it here I dropped the engine and found that there were two teeth missing from the flywheel.....This was the fault and was rectified with a new flywheel.
While the engine was out I fitted new heads as those fitted were cracked. It got a new clutch, flywheel and exhaust.
There is substantial paperwork with this van including receipts and a log of services, oil changes and gas fill ups as well as the all important import docs and US title paperwork.
The body is in stunning condition with the only damage being some rippling to the lower front panel behind the spare wheel and a ripple along the bottom of the sliding door and rear 1/4. When it was laid up in L.A. somebody spray painted their initials on the side but with a bit of elbow grease and some rubbing compound these were removed and I believe this is the vans original paint.
Amazingly, the front axle still has its factory part number painted on the shock tower.
Why trust a van with shoddy restoration work and repair panels when you can buy original and factory made?
I could do with space for working on my better halfs '67 beetle so looking for a quick sale and only asking £8000.
Any questions just ask or PM me for my phone number, if you are looking for a van this is well worth a look.
Van is located in Glasgow.
