definitely prefer it with the black bumpers.
until now I absolutely despised them (someone I know had one and it was terrible) but if more looked like that I may be persuaded into liking them a little bit.

I had one, I actually liked it, surprisingly roomy inside if anyone cares!
Engine broke lots though, several times with only 33k though

Do you have a spec sheet as to what's been done to the car?
Them wheels are awesome, what are they? The all red lights and front head lights look kewl. Where do I buy this stuff from?
Me an my wife share a red 1999 Matiz at the moment. Would love it to look special like that!!!

Really smart, would like to see it with the red bumpers completely colour coded. Although having said that the black bumpers work so well!

my mate had one of these in bronzy orange colour. He painted the standard three spoke wheels fluorescent green, then I lowered it by chopping the coils, one off the front and it didnt look that low so we chopped two coils off the rear ones and it looked awesome then

Bad timing.
I just bought a red Mk1 Matiz for my daughter. She's already told me I can't lower it though...even the suggestion that it would look better without the badges got me a look that said 'don't ruin my car with your ideas, dad'.
Regarding the presence of this car on RR, I wholeheartedly approve. Not just because I've been a fan of Matii since they were released, but because the tasteful (or even trendy in the 'right' way, on occasion) modding of any unloved and otherwise overlooked car is what this place was founded on.

That works rather well, particularly on povo-spec bumpers. I still want to see a green one with yellow lights and a red stripe on the front end so it looks like a Frog Wellie.

Looks good! If I had one, I'd have bolted on arches and WIDE wheels. You cannot go above 14" diameter on these though, it looks pants. Tyre choice is crucial too.
They're fun, but could really benefit from stiffer ARB's, or lowering, or both. (I used to drive one a lot, was lots of fun). I had a motorbike airfilter on it too, would be interesting to de-cat one too.

You cannot go above 14" diameter on these though, it looks pants. I reckon wide 13s would be a good look. Regarding the 15s - this one looks OK on them! |
