After reading about "Area 52" in these hallowed pages, which i hope we all drop into occasionally, i am getting pretty jealous. The plan is to get 6+ people together (i already have 2) and rent an industrial unit to come up with an east mids version. The basic idea is to pool knowledge and kit and have some were warm and dry to work on and store projects and cars and have a dam good laugh while were about it. Anyone interested please get in toutch and and between us hopefully we can sort something out for the new year.

Not to sure yet, central Leicester will be to expensive on the rent so will have to see how many people are interested, for me south Leicester is good (oadby/wigston) but if someone finds a unit else were for the right money then.... I`m just getting tired of doing clutches etc on the road in the rain and need some were safe to keep the growing fleet.

I'm in Derby so south Leicester is just too far for me. Keep me posted if you find something. I could maybe handle something north of Leicester.

Do you know what sort of costs you're looking at?

With 6/7 people your looking at about £20/£25 per week, aprox £6000 leaving aprox £1200/£1500 towards bills.

Taking it`s time to get going but i`ve been looking at units and i reckon if i can find five people to join with me at £25 per week thats nearly £6500 per year which is a fair size unit. A second hand two post lift is aprox £500 and between all six i should hope we would have the rest of the kit needed to do any job on any car. Any unit would have to be rented as a co-operative so everyone will be named on any tenancy and every one is as responsible as each other. Market Harborough or one of the surrounding villages is looking promising as the rents seem cheeper than most. Anyway i`ll keep looking at units/barns and keep any intrested partys up to date on here.

Have been to see the aforementioned unit, realy good size with a mez floor, two rooms(canteen/stores) and an under stairs store room, the only thing i`m not to sure about is other people will have access. While their would be a strong room for kit any cars in there would be open to anyone on site. Still going to look at a barn near Broughton Astley next week so i`ll keep anyone intrested up to speed on here.
