1) Like minded people who love all types of interesting cars and vehicles.
2) It's not about the money - people work on cars and do things themselves without spending tens of thousands like on some sites/in some magazines
3) Positivity. People are always positive and polite about your efforts. On some other sites people can be rude, unhelpful and unkind, belittling others efforts. Here people offer helpful advice and encouragement whatever the standard of your work.
4) Support and encouragement - Over the past couple of years I've found it hard to make much progress with my projects for various personal and financial reasons. I've had plenty of support and encouragement throughout these times.
5) Inspiration - Seeing so many great cars and projects really inspires you to work on your own. You get some great ideas too.

^Ace pic that. Genuinely selfless friends who’ll go out of their way to help out however they can. There’s a reason no other forum on the net comes close.

Absolutely! How did this forum end up like this and so many others have turned into really awful places to be?? I reckon we'd be classic PhD psychology student fodder.

7) coming on here to find someone I don't know has taken a car I hate and made it so I want it Haha, this is so true, happens to me every day I come on here RR has opened my eyes, cars I have never been interested in are now becoming objects of desire. This is a great thread on an amazing forum, although I'm not a prolific poster I am on here several times a day, I've picked up some great advice, had LOTS of inspiration and enjoyed every minute being here. CHEERS RR!!

The cars, the attitude and most importantly the people. If you get involved and invest, you will get out 10 fold! Have a cool old car ;D

One of the things that opitimised this foum for me was my thread earlier this year where I asked wether I should keep my mk5 Cortina or replace it with a Triumph Stag. All the folk at work thought it was obvious, Stag. But I was concerned it would be just that, the obvious choice. On this forum the Poll was virtualy an even split between the two. Not just for the same reason as I first thought either, there were some very strong reasoned cases in favour for the Stag in true RR style.
I then got the idea of getting a TR7 as a daily. Again the folks in work thought I was mad. You lot had nothing but encouragement (and thanks to a member of the PPC forum that TR7 plan now also includes a 3.0ltr V6 from a Jag S-Type).
It's a breath of fresh air and helps to maintain my version of sanity.

All of the above, i no longer run a retro, but i come back as it keeps me sane seeing what peeps have been up to, mystery machine's escort estate is now my fave thread in readers cars i have so much love for the humble mk3 and a especially a more wagon, plus everyone is cool, there is no abuse, like you get on many other clubs, this the best place to be in my eyes
