Well I wasn't going to do a build thread for it but what the hell!
I had a nissan 300c estate previously:
I never put a whole lot of time or effort into that it was a bit of an abuser. I sold it to buy a string of 200sx's and skylines to drift "properly" which in all honesty I never did and always left me wanting another 300c.
I found this on here for sale sporting nothing more than a set of cut springs and a welded diff, the axle tramp was horrendous as in a burnout would have the boot and fuel flap undone as well as a bent panhard rod!
First thing I did was buy some wheels and fit some much smaller tyres(oh and cut the springs some more!)
It was still too high, tyres too big and still handled like a boat. So I modified a cheap set of tein s13 rear coilovers supplied by GDUK J parts to fit on the rear... Cue terrible dark picture
This pretty much eliminated the axle tramp. I then decided the front end was far to wallowy. Long term plans are a full s14 rear setup with independant suspension r200 diff etc with an rb25 in the front. So I set about converting the front end to take s14 suspension and brakes.
I made 25mm extended bottom arms and redrilled them for the 300c anti roll bar and tension rod. I have decided to keep those 300c parts as the front ARB is very very thick and have a very nice flat part to allow more lock, again the tension rod is tucked in very tight behind this so they do not limit lock as much as an s14 setup would.
I also decided to build some custom knuckles for extra lock and ackerman correction. I also built a strengthening plate into them as its my first set of knuckles and I wanted them to be extra strong!
So the front end now has s14 bottom arms, s14 brakes and hubs, s14 apex gen 2 coilovers etc
Aside from needing some new bottom ball joints which are on order along with some drift works lower control arm bushes it drives so so much better. It was on a steering box so no issues with needing rack spacers etc it just had 4.0 turns lock to lock! The new faster hubs have took a whole turn lock to lock off the steering so it feels a whole lot better and has miles more lock.
It also sits a hell of a lot better!
So now I plan to actually use it a bit before the end of the year. Down to norfolk on the 24th of november as its close for a shake down then do some pod days etc. Once something breaks either engine, box or rear end I will tear it apart and start fitting the 14 rear running gear and RB25det to make it a serious tool. But for now the manual 3.0 v6 will do for some fun!
Oh and if I'm going to carry this build thread on I should probably stop using my iphone for pictures as they look cack!
