Hello peeps As the potential sale of my bug draws ever closer and we make a decision as to whether to keep the Mk1 Golf, I am trying to decide what "sensible" car to buy. Reason being the long commute to work, winter months and wedding to save for. Sad times. So, if you have any ideas I would really appreciate them! The car would need to be:- Economical (30 mpg plus), 4 seater, (maybe an estate for dog) and preferrably retro. This is your chance to go mad and shower me with your vast knowledge of cars. Think of it like a lovely melting pot of ideas and preferrably whack up a picture. budget will be around £1000-1500. Cheers! ;D

Mk1 turbo diesel Pajero would be ideal.... There's a rather spiffing example in the For Section as it happens.

This would manage all of that, I know the car as well and it is fine fettle. Advertised on the Daf Owners Club forum, 30+ mpg easy 4 seats with plenty of head and legroom. retro most definatly. Estate so room for the dog.
