Long time no posts...
I am finally going to be able to drive my Dolomite 1850 on Thursday but only if I can sort out the alternator. The original one was failing when I bought it. A new diode pack seemed to bring it back to life for a bit but it's dead again. I know 18ACRs are used on Minis and the like but if I'm going to be coughing up £50 odd for a new one I'd quite like to upgrade to something more able to cope with a full set of halogen headlamps, stereo etc. I've read that K-Series Metro alternators work and are smaller and more powerful but I'm pretty sure they don't use V-belts. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
James
