Okay I've imported a few cars from USA over the years but I have this crazy idea of fetching some more over. I just love working old yet rot-free cars its such a pleasure and a break from the endless months of cutting, grinding, welding trying to get a 40 year old UK car solid. I'm not talking £30,000 muscle cars I'm talking rather more sensibly priced models. Plan is to find em, buy em, transport em, ship em, pay the VAT, transport to here, and then find home for them, or I could do mot work, lights conversion etc, register, mot and sell on . Not looking to become a millionaire, as long as it keeps me in business I'm happy to help bring lovely projects to us Brits. (Or anyone else of course) So. Just out of interest your opinions please. If you fancied the idea of a nice solid (probably pre 73) vehicle what would you be looking for? something 50s? 60s/70s? Something tatty but solid in the £2700 to £3900 range? Something pretty nice with good paint , maybe even good upholstery etc in the £4000-£7000 range? would it be a Full size car? 2dr? sedan? wagon? a Pickup truck? A van? American? Japanese? German? For example would you be interested in ... 68 Ford F250. It is V8, auto and power steering. (many of these trucks were manual steering) it would be about £3500 OR 69 Ford pop top camper van. V8 auto. Manual steering. about the same price (which wouldn't buy you very much VW bus! ) or Ford pickup around £2800 manual trans 65 chevy , would be £3900 1953 Dodge about £3000 (all these old 50s trucks are manual usually 3 speed) 73 Datsun shortbed 620 £2700 Ex Shell Oil big ol 1955 Ford F100 flatbed. £3500 What about this US mail Jeep from 72, RIGHT HAND DRIVE.

'69 I'd love to take you up on a pile of parts / shipping offer will, but I'm under it a bit at present, so might have to wait til your 2nd trip though if you come across a bed for a 69 f250 like the one I quoted up there, then a price landed would of course be interesting

68 Ford F250. It is V8, auto and power steering. (many of these trucks were manual steering) it would be about £3500 That's exactly the sort of thing I'd want to buy, and if I got to get one at that money in the UK I'd be very happy. I've pretty much decided that my next 'toy' will be a Yank. I've imported cars before (VW Campers) but only from Australia and I had a mate there to inspect / buy stuff on my behalf which takes a lot of the worry out of committing to buy something you haven't seen. If you could find one for sensible money I'd really like a '65 - '69 Mustang (the less desirable / expensive coupe would be fine).... Or even a nice ex-Police CROWN Vic as long as it was the P71 Police Interceptor model, but does that run into SVA issues? (forgive my ignorance - I've never imported a car leass than 25 years old!!) ... If you were offering this sort of thing already shipped to the UK I think you would have no shortage of customers (me included!)

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

I'd be seriously interested in a pickup from the 60's or early 70's (pre-road tax date anyway). Something like a Ford F150 or F250 fourth or fifth generation or maybe a Chevy C10 same vintage, in a sort of sound but scruffy rolling restoration condition (the one in first first picture looks ideal). I've been playing with getting a US pickup for quite a while and rather than just buy a vehicle already in the UK I rather like the idea of being involved with the whole process, from choosing the vehicle through to the MOT, only in the hands of someone who knows what the heck they're doing . Budget wise, maybe somewhere around £4000-ish?

I'd love a late 60s early 70s full sized saloon.... something Blues Brothers/KLF/Sabotage style. Never seem to see many Galaxies or similar for sale over here. Guess big anonymous barges go pretty much unloved....

Always wanted an early 50s Chevy truck so could potentially be interested. Ideally I'd want a project. What kind of money do you think you could see them here for?
