Time again for another new topic.
After going the silly low small car route, the silly broken small car route and the loud not so broken estate i never use route I though that the time had come to finally buy something comfortable, big and able to transport me and passengers in relatively back brokenless comfort.
This time around I have bought a 1998 Passat in a really nice (In my opinion.) Dark blue.
Everything an absent minded, slightly bizzare 21 year old needs.
Climate control that seems to work.
Very adjustable seats, when i found a second adjustment knob i was confused, the third one blew my mind and the pumpy handle thingery well that almost burnt out my brain.
Alloy wheels with some of there original paint left on.
The most important bit of all. SUSPENSION!!!!
Never have i felt such comfort in a car.
Now less talking more pictures.
Witness the wonder of arch gap!
This thing is seriously clean, i mean not a dent on it one patch of thin paint and a few stone chips. That is the extent of the exterior issues. (Well and the wheels but these ones are being my winter wheels anyway.)
Plans.
Well I've already ripped off the back badges, Found me a very cheap De-badged boy racer tastic grille and a nice cheap CD player.
Most importantly I replaced the stupendously horrible fake leather, flaky, rotting mess of a gear gaiter with a genuine leather item and purchased myself a leather steering wheel to replace the bare foam wonderfulness I'm currently having to bear. One of my pet peeves is plastic, foam rubber steering wheels and fake leather so both already sorted.
The only real issues i have found in my month long ownership, water is getting in through the pollen filter housing (Common fault apparently just need to buy some sealant tape.)
The central locking doesn't want to work i think its all down to the dead battery in the key. although the drivers lock barrel spins freely and the passengers lock wont lock with the rest of the doors because its so stiff.
The drivers rear window regulator is broken and makes a hilarious farting noise when you try too use it.
Thats it, hopefully more too come.
