This is NOTHING compared to the abuse I've put this thing through (but the only video I've got), and the only time I've had anything go wrong in 6 years is a sticking caliper. I would have run through the shed at full steam if there wasn't a massive oak tree behind it just out of shot! A month or so ago I pulled a Land Cruiser up a very, very steep hill in Fishguard. It's clutch had burnt out halfway up the hill. Not surprising when it had a full size agricultural trailer on the back full of livestock! Estimated weight of the Toyota/trailer and animals was around 8 tons. The Delica pulled it to the top of the hill without any probs. Much to the relief of the farmer. Not sure if I've ever said this, but I flipping love Delica's me! |

That's my wagon!  I was looking to buy a van to take 4 people and 4 mountain bikes to fun muddy places. Vw transporters are all too cool for skool so mega money, Vito's are all rusty scrap and the rest are all french, fugly or too beaten up to be any good. So there I was thinking what I could buy and I remembered the Delica. Ebay happened, then a beer or two, then a phone call, a chat with a nice man who needed to shift it on, then a viewing (more like a job interview where I had to prove myself capable and worthy of it!) and it's now mine! And what an utterly fantastic thing it is! It drives like a dream, is as ugly as hell but utterly cool because of it. roscocav, your dad is a total nutter in all the best ways and a gentleman to boot! It's a shame he's not able to hang onto the thing, he seemed very attached to it. It is however in safe hands. Plans are currently: full service fit a thermostat as it's been pulled out fit tow bar (because race car...) get hold of a rear bench seat as this one is missing - no great importance though. sort the leaky drivers footwell drive around looking like an extra from mad max take it down to the 24hrs of nurburgring Should keep me busy for a while  |
