A friend of mine just posted this on facebook and I just had to share. I'm not normally a huge fan of these as they all tend to be modified but all end up looking the same anyway. But this I like a lot! Sorry I only have one picture and no back story but ive got to share it. If anyone knows more about it please share.

I wonder how many times he'll curse word his head on the open side door before putting a normal hinge on it.

there was a baywindow with a front panel opening door back in the day, from memory, they were early speed camera vans for the Polizei, unfortunately, my google-fu is weak today (I've got a bit of a cold) and I can't find any pics, so it could be based on one of them?

I thought exactly the same when I saw it and had to prove my mind wasnt playing tricks;

Well you learn something new everyday. I wonder if it was originally one of those police ones or has been converted later. I'm not sure which I would prefer certainly if the latter I think it would be more impressive.

Called Radarwagens, there are a few about. Found a picture in a VW book with a pair of radar units mounted directly into the front panel of a Splitscreen van. Just above the lights! Gd VW T2 Radar by la feue gendarmerie belge, on Flickr

That is a whole world of awsome!!!! That side door is sweet as, although I wonder if the front door leaks as much as a cheap pair of safaris???
