Hi, quick question hopefully,
I bought a van on Dec 19th. It broke yesterday..
It has two months tax with it
The V14 refund form does say you need to be the current or previous registered keeper
I believe the previous owner has sent the V5 off
If i send the refund form off now, ie before Jan 1st, i will not be the registered keeper (presumably) by the time they receive it
Will they (the DVLA):
a) Throw it away
b) Wait until i become the registered keeper and refund me from that point (actually why would expect the keeper to change anytime soon)
c) Correlate the date of change of keeper with tax refund date, and refund the whole two months (i guess very unlikely)
i could ring them everyday until i am on their system as the registered keeper then send the tax off. This will certainly cost me the first month and possibly the second as well
They're currently not answering the phone as they're too busy
Sorry for the not-so-quick question
Thanks
James
