Which part of the country are you? For some reason the number plate looks very familiar. Gotta love a Lhasa green mk1 gti; keep hold of her!

Nice buy. The Mk1 Golf is indeed an all time classic. One of the best colours too. Agreed, nice shed

well after i got the old girl back to the shed as its been stood outside for 2 yrs and has a typically non water tight sunroof the was the issue of drying it out, so out came the interior seats, door cards, carpets, door rubbers etc. also dropped the bumpers, rear lights and plates off, dropped in a fresh battery and made sure she still fired into life as i collected it on a trailer without starting it glad to report a few turns straight into life and a nice idle now its all dried out and also glad to report no rust was found as a result of the sitting water it'll be glad of it new warm dry home. first thing on the list now is a good old service and brake over haul so hopefully be attacking that at the weekend then i think i'm just going to throw her in for a mot and see what happens bit of luck she might even pass fingers crossed on route home so first question for the mk1 boys the sunroof won't open what the best plan of attack before i rip the headliner out and just strip it all out? also can you buy replacement seals for them?

No idea on the stuck sunroof as mine's been (poorly) welded up, but a quick look on ebay brings this up for the seals.
