**SOLD**
This is for a nice MX5 engine and gearbox package with the bonus of being **mucho cheap** (I need the space)
The last MX5 engine package I sold was for £400. This time I'm only after £250 for everything listed!
First off, there are two parts missing to make this a 100% COMPLETE package: the alternator and the airbox/MAF. That's it!
An alternator can be sourced for about £20 and the airbox/MAF for £15. So for only £35 more you have absolutely everything. I should have the airbox/MAF somewhere and if I find it, I'll include it in the pacakge meaning you only have to source an alternator.
So what do you get?
The complete engine & gearbox with the following parts which are often removed to sell seperately
Coil pack & leads
Injectors & fuel rail
Inlet manifold/plenum/throttle
Exhaust manifold & downpipe
Starter motor
ALL engine sensors
ALL engine wiring
Throttle cable
Speedo cable
As well as all that you also get the COMPLETE wiring loom for the WHOLE car so you've got everything you need and more to get the engine running properly. All wiring, fuse boxes, realys etc... You also get the ECU with it.
The engine is a sweet runner and the gearbox works perfectly with the classic. precise MX5 'rifle bolt' action. I drove the car for nearly 30 miles and through a lot of bad traffic before pulling it apart (the body wsa beyond saving unfortunately!) and it behaved perfectly throughout.
Here is a video of the engine starting and running from a complete cold start. I'd removed the exhaust from the downpipe before I thought to take the video, so apologies about the loud noise. The car was completely stone cold upon start up and you'll notice the complete lack of HLA rattle that these can suffer with. Like I say, it's a really, really sweet engine and box (I wouldn't consider selling it otherwise)
My friend Sam sold a 1.6 engine the other day with no gearbox, no wiring, no ECU, no coil pack, no sensors (i.e. pretty much a bare engine) for £215. Like I said, the last package I sold was for £400.
I need the space and I could do with the money, so I'm letting this all go for a real bargain.
Collection is from Area 52 in Bristol. There is an engine crane to get it all into your car too, so no worries there (the last package fitted fine into the back of a Mondeo hatch to give you an idea of what it'll fit)
Cup of tea always supplied.
