Hi, I brought the above a couple of years ago, only done around 500 miles since last MOT, No mot at present but should pass. It has being standing for around 7. Months. Car started first time with new battery today, runs well, very good-excellent condition for age 1989. All original, mileage around 105,000, owner before me had car for about 17 years, no service history (lost) Will add photos when I can find out how to. Any interest or idea's what's it worth, thanks

The main thing with these: rust! Have you checked under the kit to see what the bodywork is like there? Rust can make or break the value of these.
Does it have full leather or the chequered/tartan half leather?
Mileage isn't too important, but condition and service history is. Seeing as yours is lacking the majority of the paperwork, the best chance of getting strong money is going to be on condition alone (which comes back to the rust)
They are a surefire collectors item, but tatty/rusty ones will always be worth a fraction of that of a tidy one. People who buy them will generally know what to look for and where to look.
I adore these. Such great cars that always lived in the shadow of the E30 M3. I know which I'd rather have! (and yours is my fave colour too!)

I have not had the body kit off so I'm unsure of condition behind it, had the car up on a ramp and from what you can see it looks in great condition, it has the half leather interior, How easy is it to get old service history from Mercedes? Thanks

At £2750 I am out I'm afraid... I'd be looking at about £1800 with no MOT, but then I do like a bargain!

With no history, a proper enthusiast won't even look at one of these. If a previous owner held the history in such poor regard that he lost it, it doesn't speak much for the effort he would have put into maintaining the car.
Looking nice and clean as it does, with a full MOT and no advisories, £2k on a good day.

I think with it being the 2.5 and in good condition with a years MOT, £2950 isn't a bad price. You should be able to get close to that price fairly easily on the Mercedes club forums like mbclub.co.uk.
