If you're interested, then your best bet is to start by having a skim through of the readers rides thread here, the ad from when I bought it here and the ad before that here
Bad bits first. Here's the MOT fail list
Offside front outer sill rust
Offside front inner sill rust-- These first two are actually the same fail as the rust goes from outer sill to outer sill but behind the wing, if that makes sense
Nearside rear inner sill rust- grotty hole right up in the join to the floor
Offside rear inner sill rust.- likewise
Nearside upper balljoint dust cover excessively deteriorated Offside upper balljoint dust cover excessively deteriorated---replacement Ball joints purchased but not fitted
Lucas electrics cover these points-
Offside rear direction indicator not working
Offside front headlamp not working on main beam
These just need nipping up
Nearside front wheel bearing excessive play
Offside front wheel bearing excessive play
Parking brake efficiency below requirements (18%)
More bad-- the only problems rendering the car undrivable are a very leaky carb (replacement obtained but not fitted) and because of this I haven't been able to set up the new posh electronic dizzy.
There are various bits of grot and patches and mismatched paint and a torn headlining and a cracked steering wheel and.. it's a tatty little car
Good things
It's cool
It's really easy to repair and maintain with Triumph Herald/Spit stuff
It's tax exempt and MOT exempt so you can't get much cheaper to keep
It comes with any useful spares that I've accumulated (including the expensive windscreen seal required)
I genuinely think that it wouldn't take much to get this up to a reasonably good (though not minty mint) standard but my priorities are elsewhere; those friends with me on Facebook will have noticed a shift to making nice beer and playing with my little boy. I also want to fund a new car purchase
Apologies for shoddy advert- I will amend to include more info later but I wanted to at least get the ad up. Will also get fresh pics next time I visit where it's stored
To make it clear- this will need trailering at the moment. Not running due to carb and timing needing set up and I must point out that MOT exempt does not mean roadworthiness exempt so please take this into consideration.
'Stock' photos taken during the few months I've owned it.
