Just watched Gone in 60 Seconds. Not the Nicholas Cage remake but the 1974 original. Never seen such a long chase sequence - probably 30 mins long. What is interesting is other than the exotic cars being stolen probably 90-95% of the other vehicles are US models. How times have changed and, although I've never been to the US, I believe it's now 90-95% non US models Anyone who wants to see the film can view it here - Full film albeit with foreign subtitles. Also watch out for the Capri (probably a mercury) and the MG 1100, Halicki's finest 45 minutes set the bench mark for every other car chase that followed.

Just re-watched this recently. Awesome film, so much real action, so different from today's car chases..... and way cooler cars too. Also watch out for the Capri (probably a mercury) and the MG 1100, Halicki's finest 45 minutes set the bench mark for every other car chase that followed. Spotted that too!

One of the best car chases ever. Certainly the longest, and by far the coolest person to every have worked in insurance. I bought the film on the strength of a recommendation on here-best £3 I ever spent.

Got it on DVD - love the fact that it is ALL the driving is REAL, and the low budget. Awesome final 30 minutes.

My favourite celluloid car chase ever, a much better film than the Cage remake, no 'doing it unwillingly for a good cause' storyline either.
