Buy this.....stay warm!
Seriously, this thing is essential if you want to work indoors or even outdoors and keep warm. It'll warm a workshop/double garage in no time at all.
The only reason for selling? Because Area 52 is a very, very big space with zero insulation, high ceilings and lots of big draughty gaps.
We ran it pretty much constantly a couple of winters ago and it served us well, but since getting the new wood burner fitted and discovering the delights of thermals it's not really been used.
It looks a bit tatty, but it's so reliable and works really well. It hadn't been started for well over a year, yet fired up perfectly with the first flick of the switch and immediately started pumping out nice hot air. It's a genuine Sealey one and not one of the horrible chinese ones that cough and splutter their way through the fuel.
We've run it on central heating oil, parrafin, red diesel, diesel and various mixes of the above. It just burns whatever you seem to put into it and never seems to hesitate, splutter or cut out (unless you run it out of fuel...in which case it just shuts splutters then shuts off)
Apart from the paint on the main cylinder which has peeled off (was like that when we got it) it's in good condition. The missing paint does not affect its use whatsoever. The metal piece at the end of the burner tube (and the bit behind it) is a bit distorted, but trust me, this does not affect the heat output at all. It really does fire out some serious heat! (see video below for the distorted metal)
If the workshop was half the size (Area 52 is about 4,500 sq ft) and the roof/ceiling height was lower then I'd never be selling this at all.
It also comes with about half a tank of fuel. Exactly what that is I couldn't tell you, but I'd guess is being mainly central heating oil and maybe a bit of red diesel? Either way, that's about two hours of free heating if run constantly.
Buy now, buy cheap and enjoy working on your car in the warmth. You can't beat a toasty garage!
£100 ono - collection only from Area 52 in Bristol.
A little video to show it running from a cold start-up. The heat is pretty much instantaneous, but after a mintue or so running they blow out even hotter air!
