Hi all I have the chance to get a 3 litre mk3 capri front end, question is what's involved in getting it all to fit and keeping a crossflow. I have a rear sump engine to fit if needed and I'm already using capri strut tops

You'll get a better answer to this on Buy sell Cortina. But for what its worth, I recently fitted R and P to my Corsair which is fundamentally the same chassis.
I think you'll find the easier route is to use the Escort stuff as its narrower width is more suited to the Cortina. However it isn't particularly straight forward even at that, as the Cortina x member is mounted quite forward of the struts, with the TCA's kicking backwards. The Escort(or capri for that matter) and its TCA's don't, which mean the x member has to be mounted further back along the chassis. This then causes engine mounting problems, and is one of the reasons that Old Ford Services kit quite clearly states, it moves the engine backwards in the bay by 2" to 3".
I suggest a good read up across the internet to the pro's and cons. I made my own set up using the Corsair x member, to keep everything in alignment, but it was far from easy and wouldn't suit everyone. The so called off the shelf kits were just not right imo and didn't suit what I wanted to achieve. By the same token I did also look at the Escort set up, but that didn't appeal to me either mainly for the reasons I've mentioned.

Hello, ive done the same conversion as v8ian, using a capri 2.0 front end. Not exactly easy, but not mega hard either. I did mine last year. Go onto BuySellCortina, its in the members cars bit, with lots and lots of info and even more pics to help everyone else. Hello V8ian, how are you mate? Your old mk2 is on evilbay at 10k. I miss your mk2  Was a major inspiration to me and you with your help and technical know how, which is second to none. Did you keep the hykey locks? |

Yep I still have the Hykee locks, I could not find anybody to cut me a spare key,
Yep I saw my car was up for sale, I have moved on to a vauxhall thing.
