I have finally decided that Marco is never going to get back on the road unless I can find him a new owner, here for sale is my 1981 VW MK1 Polo LX. The car is based in Mitcham i'm in tooting.
Firstly just so everybody knows the bad bits so they don't have to keep on reading if they don't want too. Just going to be as honest as I can be.
The car is not running at present with no tax or mot so would have to be trailered away I did manage to get the car running but there was an electrical fault which caused the battery to drain pretty quickly (I'm sure due to the rather heath robinson approach to electrics when the previous owner swapped the old engine, sorry if your reading but just saying what I saw.)
The interior is pretty sparse and the clocks are from a MK2 in a MK1 dash (ill fitting, hence why the dash is un-bolted at the mo)
The rear arches have been cut to be replaced by the previous owner but never been replaced I have sourced a set that had been cut slightly but are more than useable.
There is no heating.
There is no rear seats.
the front early type grille has been cut for a previous g60 engine swap.
It's not on the ATS's they are separate it's on vw tarantulas.
I think thats the worst of it.
On the plus side (i bet your thinking are there any)
I have the V5c (ready to go)
The body of the car its self I believe to be really really solid and almost rust free apart from the rear arches being cut/rusty and just below the rear window on the inside and a couple of other small bits, it would make a good donor car or even a good project if you had the patience.
It has been slammed to the weeds with what I was lead to believe was PhilJ gear.
Some may see this next one as good or bad but the engine is now a 1.3 out of a MK2 with the attached gear box, steering etc.
I'm pretty sure thats it but if I can remember anything more i'll post it up.
I'm after what it owes me which is £450 with the bits i've gathered. I also have a set of ATS Classics for this for sale which I will be listing.
I've attached a few photos in a link to a photobucket folder as the files are large.
I hope somebody can see the potential in this car like I could.
