Morning all Driven to work today and my temp gauge was slowly climbing as my heater was stone cold . Is there a drain point for the coolant on a 1.1 K-Series metro? I'm going to blast some water through it tonight as it was a bit murky when I got it! Thanks, Ryan

If you're gonna drain it, maybe stick a new thermostat in? Hope it's not the HG mate. Worst case, if it is the HG (and depending on how much the car is worth/how long you're keeping it/ how much it means to you) you could stick some K-seal in it? It's excellent stuff mate. It sorted the heater matrix on my old Mk2 Metro and it definitely works on Head gaskets.

It's fixed inself Drove to my parents last night to use some ramps and the temp stayed normal and the heater blew hot. It is using water still but that could be a leak as there is a puddle under the car which I thought was screw wash. Going to put a new stat and pump on it next week as well as a full flush. Just think I've shocked the dirt around with use

K Series love to eat inlet manifold gaskets. If it is that, they usually fail between cylinders 3&4. Gaskets are a tenner or less, and not too hard to do. Worth a look.
On a couple I have worked on, the giveaway was crusty plugs (what I imagine must be burnt coolant) in cyl 3 & 4, but they can leak "externally" too, i.e., down the back of the head/block.
