I know that feel, not the eye thing, the ARGH I MUST SELL THIS thing. I know the feel of getting back to it too, having recently done this myself with the Princess. Stick at it, if it annoys you walk away from it until you're ready to go back to it. You have the skills to sort it and know that there's quite a few of us jealous of you owning such a solid looking P6. Yep! it might well end up being the cheapest total resto cost i've done, which is what swung it. I do need to cut down on projects, but all going to plan, i should only have one on the go by the end of the year. Which in my head will probably mean i'll go and buy something else.....

Well, update o clock. Recently, i bought a full set of semi reasonable panels for the car to get it all in one colour. The doors are pretty cack and probably full of filler but what it does mean is that i can get the car on the road and paint the good panels off the car. As a result, it now looks like this Had a huge nightmare with the loom. Its stumped me since i bought the car and i could never work out why it never quite matched the wiring diagram. Recently it completely fried itself and kept blowing battery control fuses so i gave up and dropped 40 quid on a new one. Pulled the original out and lined it up next to the new one, which was supposed to be exactly the same and found them to be wildly varied. Turns out, after about an hour of headscratching, the original loom had been modified. Mainly in the charging circuit. Neither me nor my dad could work out why the new loom had no plug for the alternator and after some digging i found a mini-loom for the alternator that spurs off the starter motor. The original loom had a new circuit actually built into the loom. I cant imagine how much less time it would have taken me if i'd worked that out a few years ago but oh well. I spent today mending knackered bits of the 'new' loom and i should hopefully have it in loosely tomorrow!

That really highlights the P6's panel party trick well, ends up looking like a totally different car with relatively minimal effort.

Yeah, madness isnt it! the doors are made mainly of flop and holes but are ok for temp.
I've got the loom in now, took me ages to sort it properly and get a good switched 12v going to the starter only to find the starter motor is knackered.
Need to get that rebuilt but after that it should run!
