Has anyone fitted these? Looking at a KYB Excell-G shocks on ebay for my Maestro, they seem fair priced compared with the others.
Whats putting me off tho is, i had a pair on my XR2 and even tho they were correct, the car sat too high, even with lowering springs the car sat higher than standard, something to do with the strut length, its a known problem with the XR2
Anyone got any feedback on there other types?

I've run KYB Excel-G shocks on both my corolla's and my paseo, all sat on lowering springs. Found them to be lovely to drive on regularly and have just enough extra stiffness for spirited driving.

I run them on my mk3 escort, lowered 60mm and there a fantastic ride, great price aswell! Soo many J cars have kyb shocks from standard. I think you probably had mk1 fiesta shocks on your mk2 as there longer, alot of people me included fit mk2 shocks to mk1 to make them lower;-)

I have driven a Triumph Mk1 2.5PI on the same springs my Stag sits on but with the Gas-A-Just KYBs (I believe the Excels are the same, but not adjustable). That car has to be one of the best retros I have driven in terms of a handling and comfort compromise. It was utterly wonderful (they probably will be the next bunch of dampers I fit onto the Stag).

Excel-G are standard gas dampers. The Gas-A-Just shocks are high gas pressure monotube. I have them on my Volvo Amazon and they're a good fast road damper. They aren't actually adjustable but apparently load sensitive.

I put them on my Alfa and was very happy with them. A good budget road fit.
