Basingstoke Festival of Transport.

After reading about it on FB and here for a few years, we decided to head down the A33 to Basingstoke and check it out for ourselves. With a camper loaded up with the family and a couple of friends we rolled into the carpark and paid our bargainous £2 to park! The show is spread over a couple of big fields and has something for everyone.

Tractors - I love how the owners lavish as much care and attention on mundane workhorses as owners of gleaming classic cars do.







Bikes - What floats your boat? Big Goldwings, elegant Ducatti or Mustang V8 trikes?

Once we'd been past the bikes and agricultural section it was the turn of some stunning Fords from the 1930s, this 36 Woody was my car of the day, the interior was just stunning.







The first field we walked round was rammed with commercial vehicles to start with, spotless trucks and lorries as well as buses and vans.

After the monster commercials was the general classic car section. Every row revealed a car that we, our friends or parents had owned at some point! It was like a stock RR show!

















These signs always make me laugh a little, especially when they are stuck to the faded and crazed paintwork of a well used daily!

Another food break and we set off round the other field, car clubs lined the way with everything from the Fiat 500 OC through to this dodgy group in the corner with some MX5s and random Americana















The varied and really quite cool (even the MX5s Mr Horne!) Manky Monkey Motors stand.

With it getting colder and the showers nearer, we skirted round the last few rows of cars. Some clean Peugots and BMWs









How apt this hearse should have such a dangerous grill!

Of all the things I liked the most, I reckon the cute recovery truck and almost as cute coach are my favourites. Looks like a pleasantly diverse show.
