That back Stag is Fnaar. MX-5s are awesome. Do it. I will be, eventually. Also: Check this out tinyurl.com/36kesyI think it has a very RR feel to the project.

MX5s rock. I've often considered one, but never quite commited for no other reason than I'm easily distracted and find it hard to sleep in a two seater... ;D

Volvo, Buggy, Discovery and an old tractor.

I'm sure they handle fantastically but their looks in standard and close to standard form do absolutely nothing for me. However, those kits that can be gotten for them change the ball game completely.

s1 and s1.5 cars look nice. A mate has one. Its a cracking little car IMO. Get one lowered and band those pvo 1.6 steelies out and you are getting there.
I find the persistant roll hoops and other stuff that seem to be the law on "modified" or "personalised" MX5s lack a bit of imagination...
Jackson supercharger. Hmmmmm.....

I post the same ones every time we have an MX5 thread, but here goes anyway: from here. The wheel specs are listed with the picture, so there's no excuse for getting it wrong! ;D

Yeah do it! I got over any predjudices a while back, and would go for one myself if I wasnt hooked on the other japanese two seater sports. do it. I would now also consider if I was looking for a new car, a new model MR2, they are bloody good fun (but new car costs) i ven see potential in the design now! don't worry about the standard power with these type of things either if you like fun in the twisties and the roof down, do it.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yes, definitely! A retro-styled one with a buzzy 1.6 would be grand

Ignore those who knock em - they know no better. They are ace handling little cars which have all the fun bit with none of the plethora of curse word that comes with british roadsters.
I keep wish i'd fugging fit in one! Grrrr.

Datsun is gorgeous, but must be costly. The price of fairlady roadsters here are a joke compared to the price of brithish roadsters.. Oh, and Mx5`s are awesome, get one. Now.

Why not get the Japanese Classic that the MG Midget was based on in the first place

Why not get the Japanese Classic that the MG Midget was based on in the first place Seconded! MG Midget was released in 1961, but based on the Austin Healey Sprite of 1958...the Fairlady Roadster was released in 1962. The Datsun, as I understand was deliberately aimed at the British sports car buyers in the US. I'd much rather have the Datsun, by the way. ;D
