Right guys, I am sorry to say that my Celica WRC is for sale.
Reason being a new house, new baby and new job mean hardly any time to drive or enjoy it, so it makes no sense to keep it languishing in the garage.
The car was imported in ’96 and has covered a total of 104’000km (odometer never changed to miles).
When I got the car it was in a bit of a state having not been loved for some time. Once in my possession it was treated to –
BC coilovers including new top SS ball joints
Rebuilt braking system, new pads and stainless lines
Refurbished and uprated Cusco clutch and flywheel
Serviced and checked Cusco plate rear LSD
Straight air intake
Remote mounted battery
Forged B.I.M. Zeit wheels in 17” with matching new tyres, 25mm rear spacers and 10mm front.
Extra short shift gear linkage and extended carbon gear lever
Tasteful leather steering wheel
Tidied engine bay
All the general servicing required
Since this work was completed the car has only done 2000 miles.
All of the work is detailed on my build thread available here –
retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=123485&page=1
The car also has a number of upgraded items from previous ownership –
C-One front strut brace
Omori boost gauge
HKS EVCII boost controller
DEFI gauges for oil pressure, water temperature and oil temperature (sender has stopped working for oil temp)
Recaro seats, drivers with original hard wearing patches (see pictures)
Mongoose exhaust system
The engine is a peach and runs with a cold idle oil pressure of 6 bar and a hot idle pressure of 3 bar. The boost controller is set up for 1 bar and has been the entire time I have had the car, it is also always run on super unleaded.
There are a few issues with the car that would require attention to make perfect, the exhaust is touching the cross member on overrun, something that has never bothered me (not many miles driven!). The oil temperature gauge failed on the last drive, I have traced this to a sender issue, it might just be a broken wire but time is against my for further investigation.
I had to do some body work to get rid of a dent in the rear drivers quarter and a dent in the passenger sill, both of these have been repaired to a very high standard but require paint to finish. The panels have a temporary finish to prevent corrosion. The drivers wing will require replacement and I will endeavour to get some before the sale.
I have all of the documentation from Japan for the aftermarket items on the car, the import documents and lots of bills. The car currently has not tax or MOT, but I can put 12 months MOT on for the new owner.
I am looking for £2700.
The car is located at NN11, please contact me for further details. Pictures will be coming soon
