I like the B3/B4 80s a lot,but have not owned a convertible. Every now and again I check EBAY for cheap ones, and this week the right one came up. I wanted silver (easy to keep clean and suits car) and I wanted a manual gearbox and leather interior, the other things were not important. The ad stated 1 years MOT, a good hood and not much else. Here is the EBAY pic which was the wrong way up and the add was poor. I find these kind of ads always lead to a bargain.. Anyway what I bought was a tatty 2.6 V6 Manual in silver with blue hood, blue leather interior and walnut trim - just how I like them! Collected on Friday night from and drove 1 hour home Ok, but with very bouncy front shocks.

Being the V6 it has the lower/better front bumper (like an S2) and it came with 16" wheels, sport steering wheel and sports seats. I didn't take before pics but here it is after a clean up, The engine. running well, leak free and smooth. The interior after I fitted the S1 steering wheel and some fettling of the leather. I treated the front end to a pair of projector S2 headlights and a machine polish. And that was about it aside from a few service items.... And a set of 17" Brock B1s and a suspension kit. (you know I love this German style period)

These wheels are not the Brocks I had for sale, these are 17" polished the ones I had for sale are 16". 16" is a bit too small for a Cabrio or Coupe.
The V6 is a gents engine, its smooth an torquey but not fast but comfortable. I have something to make it go fast but in not sure I I am going to do it yet.
Thanks for the comments guys, makes all the headaches over offsets and spring drops/rates ect worth it!

Thanks, I think it looks well given its a budget project. Its at £890 all in now, but I had the lights and steering wheel spare already. Cheap summer cruising though I do need to tax it next month!

Iv'e been on the lookout for a 4 seater cabrio for a few weeks now, and hadn't really considered one of these, but this one has completely changed that I reckon I could even convince the wife it is a good idea now !

You don't mess around, do you? It normally takes me six months to get around to just washing a car, yet you own yours for about 18 seconds before turning it from stock-as-a-rock into a bedroom wall pin-up.
You're a git. I mean that in the nicest possible way. Git.
