I have posted elsewhere on here, But I think it should be posted on here, I have been collecting bits to build something along the likes of this, NOT a replica, but following the style, but hopefully with a little bit more finnesse around the rear arches, The bits so far have been collecting nicely, lets hope my collection start to gel into something soon, sorry if you have seen this lot of bits before, 33 Austin 7 Box Saloon, probably a little bit more rough than it looks, but nothing major that cant be sorted, Its going to be channeled about 6" over the chassis, and the rear arches lifted up into the swage line or near to, Lagonda 16" wires Now for the engine, I have give a lot of thought into the engine, with quite a few ideas and combinations thought about, but the weight advantage of a bike engine over a car engine and box have outweighed most of the downsides, A big 4 would have worked, but they tend to be short stroke and quite revvy, I am trying to get the car under 650lbs before driver, so a Suzuki Twin has won, TL1000R. 135hp, 100ft/lbs and not a high reving engine, best of all it fits within the bonnet without cutting the bulkhead, it wont be a slouch with around 300hp+ per ton, Just aquired a Translogic quickshift for it as well, so I can power shift to my hearts content, Think this will be the steering wheel, needs a referb, but its very saveable, the only reason the project is stalled at the moment is I need to build a garage, I have decanted the contents of my shed into my dining room and even more into my spare bedroom,

Yes! I have always dreamt of building a car exactly like this, although my version had a Japanese 4 cylinder car engine in it. Can't wait to watch the progress unfold.

Gonna be great this. I'm having silly thoughts about joining 2 TL1000 engines end to end to go in my 100e. Need to speak to froggy to see how he did his.

I might need a timber garage erection team in the near future, I need to sell my shed and get it removed, but I think thats sorted, give it a couple of weeks and you and Martin might get a call, I know exactly what you mean about the mags, BUT,,,,,, the mags I would want, namely Halibrands or ETs, genuine ones would put me in the poor house, so its Austin Special meets Austin Hotod,

I must say a big thankyou to Bozwell, what a NICE man, he has helped me out no end with an axle that is surplus to his needs for his lovely little Honda, all for a very good deal, What I must do now is find another atlas to replace his, either a cortina P100 Atlas, or a Capri 2.8 atlas for spares, I need the gears he needs the rest, Now for what I have got, a Narrowed atlas, which by pure fluke just happens to be within 10mm wide of what I would have narrowed it to, I'm chuffed, again, a big thankyou Mr Bozwell. TOP MAN

I've always loved this photo. Simple, cool, vintage. If it's gonna be as fantastic as it sounds, you will be my hero. I look forward to seeing the bike engine install too, always though a fast v twin would be an awesome poewrplant for a lightweight car, although personally I'd have tried to get a ducati motor, purely for the noise they make!

Me too, its one of those pic's I forget all about, and then it appears on here and makes me smile That axle looks like it should take all the abuse you'll ever chuck at it and then some

The Suzuki TL has a soundtrack of its own one of the hardest sounding bikes ever, also the engine found its way into the Cagiva 1000 raptor,
